Sandoval v. Riverside County

In May 2025, Prison Law Office and co-counsel brought suit in California Superior Court to challenge Riverside County's use of cash bail. The lawsuit challenges the unconstitutional practice of jailing people pre-arraignment for failure to pay cash bail. The suit also challenges Riverside County's failure to provide arraignments with bail hearings for an unconstitutionally long period following their arrest.
